Scuds says it best...on those 3-1 and higher..the guy is money...but on the chalk...hard to swallow sometimes

Most likely was a reaction to the slow pace....I should have kept my mouth shut about the ride considering I didnt even look at the PP's for the race..

He probably sensed that the pace was a crawl and if he didn't move that soon Sweet Return would win in a jog.

I think sitting back under those circumstances would have been the wrong move.

Well,I refuse to believe that Victor Espinoza is this stupid (as to keep his horse under a hammerlock while S RETURN is setting a 49 half.)Gomez had to make an attempt to go catch the horse who got away with a 49 half(obviously Victor wasn't gunna do it..........amazing......he simply watches Gomez go buy him.)He is not this stupid.I think he just decided that Gomez was on Charmo, and anything he could do to avoid seeing Gomez win another stakes was worth it(including letting Alex set an easy 49 half.....as he sat quietly and watched.) It worked.I didn't play Victor's horse. If I did,I would think he violated the rule that says you have to try your best to actually win with your own horse. He was certainly borderline in that mile turf stakes today.

Yes,I needed the 8 horse to finish off a p3.Could of done it if S Return was forced to run a 48 or so(instead of a 49.)I don't think it is asking a lot for Cervelo to press a horse in front of him to do that.Look at what he normally has done.He is a length off 46'4,or a 48(at the slowest right?) This is the reason this 8 couldn't get by at the wire.Big break that Victor gave S RETURN today. This horse would normally force a leader of a mile race to run a 48.The 49 is gunna stand out on his p.p.s(that weird 49 half in a mile stakes race.)

I thought I was nailed by Biancone's horse. Only reason I bet the race is the skewed odds. Charmo at 4/5? On the basis of what? Sweet Return had numbers towering over these and while I would not have wanted 5/2 on him, 9/2 was worth a stab that he'd get an easy lead. Still almost gave it up. Not too anxious to play him back again.
