Default NYRA shuffles races to accommodate new BC races

I can't wait until every race in the country is scheduled to fit the BC

I have good memories of when top horses use to actually race more than 4 times a year and not duck any of the best competition. When horses would race as 4 year olds.

Those were the days. Its sad when horses like Successful Affair are winning the important inner track stakes. Thats a name that will be forgotten by next year, unlike Iron Gavel, Coyote Lakes, Arromanches, Lottsa Talc, Unreal Mot and Boom Towner.

At least they didn't move the Cigar Mile. The DeFrancis does just fine while following the BC, and there is no reason the Cigar Mile can't either.

Ugh. First they shuffle the Saratoga schedule to fit pre-BC telecast needs... now Belmont & Aqueduct, too? It is getting ridiculous.

I was expecting a lot worse when I saw this headline. This is pretty much a non-story in my opinion. None of these races shoule be any worse off in their new spots on the calendar.

One can only hope it could be that again...maybe with the move?

I think it would have had a better chance if they put it a month before the BC. Three year olds looking at the Dirt Mile might find it tempting.

Default Fine move by the NYRA

Say what you want about the NYRA (positive or negative) but my opinion is that they do a great job with their stakes scheduling. They moved some stakes races to coincide with the Breeders Cup expansion.

Here is the link to the story:
