new bolton and 'R and R' have both always been excellent facilities but different in how they operate...because New Bolton is associated with Penn, it has a greater focus on teaching and research...you may have heard of the feral pony herd they maintain for behavior study etc. they also (if I am not mistaken) treat more than just equines.
But they surely have gone above and beyong in their care of barbaro and deserve any and all recognition that they get.

why should they get an award for doing their job. This thinking drives me crazy. I hated when my employees would want a bonus, raise etc etc. I agree with getting a cost of living raise, but people should not get a raise for doing their job. People need to go far beyond their job duties in order to get a raise on an award. In this case, The New Bolton Center was doing their job--therefor they do not deserve an award.

there's doing your job...and there's doing your job incredibly well. there's a difference. and i wish more people would do the latter, rather than the former!
