![]() This week’s steeplechase is a 2 life allowance at 2 ⅜ miles over 9 jumps around 5 turns and the class dropping favorites will be tough to beat.
#6 St. John’s for leading trainer Jack Fisher, leading owner Bruton Street and leading jockey Graham Watters team up after a nice flat run tune up at Laurel. #6 St. John’s just missed on the undulating Middleburg course and will move up on a flat race track course similar to Colonial where he broke his maiden. His handicap rating is 123. #5 Hidden Path has the best chance for trainer Ricky Hendriks to break his win drought at Saratoga since Teodoro won over jumps in 2019. #5 Hidden Path always hits the board in jump races, is the biggest class dropper in the race and the highest rated at 125, and had a nice flat tune up at Delaware Park. #2 Brie’s Mission (3rd) is also a class dropper and gets a weight break since he is a 4 year old. Trainer Kathy Neilson made a rare claim from Jack Fisher’s barn in last and should run well fresh underneath in trifecta and superfecta with a handicap rating of 111. #7 Memento is coming off a maiden score, has the 3rd highest handicap rating at 119, will go to the front and try to run as far as he can but has shown that he can not get the distance and can run underneath in trifectas and superfectas. #1 Holly Moley surprised at Laurel over jumps in last and can run at the bottom of the superfecta. The race before at Radnor, he could not catch the winner running uphill in a slow time. #1 Holey Moley has a 117 handicap rating. Selection A) 6 - 5 WON $8.30 Good luck at the races!
