![]() I'm hoping that the smoke from the Canadian fires that has blanketed the midwest and caused numerous cancellations today will have cleared by Saturday. If that is the case, our venue will be Ellis Park for what is the traditional Stephen Foster card that is normally run at Churchill Downs.
We will be playing races 3 through 11, with our contest commencing at 12:43 PM Central time. |

![]() Frankly, I've been much more concerned about air quality due to the smoky conditions in the midwest from the Canadian fires. The measurements seems to be improving and some tracks that cancelled yesterday are running today. Charles Town is the only exception that I have seen.
Right now, Ellis has been under a weather delay for the start of their card, probably due to a thunderstorm that has rumbled through the Ohio Valley. Races have come off of the turf and there are scratches, but tracks and horseplayers have to cope with that every day. If you were to reconsider the choice of Saratoga due to the possibility of a popup thunderstorm, we would never use that as our Summer Place to be since they are just a fact of life in summertime. So, thank you for the weather forecast, but no change for the present. |
