Default BCS, this thing might straighten itself out yet

Ark down.
And then there were 3.
Florida and USC have to win out to be considered. Mich needs both not to win out.
Heres hoping the Irish beat USC, and that Florida goes down this week or next so that Michigan gets the rematch it deserves as far and away the 2nd best team out there, and in my opinion maybe the best team. Nobody who loses a 3 point game to number one in their stadium on a bs after the fact personal foul call deserves to be denied what they are owed, a rematch on neutral ground.

Something tells me that USC will be playing Ohio St. A rematch would be the right thing, but a Michigan win would be a season split, the BCS doesn't want that.

Man, I just dont get all the hype around USC. I was listening to ESPN radio today at work and keep hearing these 'experts' kiss their ass about how they are clearly the 2nd best team in the nation. I'm guessing these guys were from the East coast and havent actually stayed up to watch USC. They're sucking the last drops of hype that Leinert, Bush, White, etc. left after last season. I'm just not impressed at all. They'll get trounced in the BCS Title Game, IF they get by ND adn I think thats a very big if. ND doesnt deserve in the Title Game at all though either. Yes, Michigan, you crushed Notre Dame on their home field, but they get to play for the Title, not you. That makes sense...uh huh. Florida isnt bad, but just doesnt impress me much either. Hell, I'd rather see West Virginia in there over the Trojans or Gators. Atleast the 'Neers have a hell of an offense that would make the game fun to watch and would probably keep it close.

Default **** the BCS

School gets richer off pimping the kids an education that is worth crap. "We will give you a scholarship and you will major in basket weaving, those classes are 26 steps from the football facility"

Not saying that CBB has it any better but they are least give 64 teams a chance to win it all, like every other sport, they just don't award a winner.

16 teams, the month of December, the media around it would be INSANE. Could you imagine an FSU/Florida, LSU/Auburn, Auburn/Alabama, Ohio State/Notre Dame, Notre Dame/USC REAL CHAMPIONSHIP where both teams won 3 games to get to that point....man, it would be bigger then the Super Bowl

lsu is a very talented team, i just read about their road schedule, and the depth on their squad. not so sure they could handle ohio st, but i'd love to see them try.
they have a chance at the rose or orange, depending on game play today and next wknd. i just wish they'd hurry and decide, tickets won't be getting any cheaper!!

I'm glad there isn't a playoff because LSU would probably win every year.

No to a rematch. Michigan really lost by two scores.

What difference does it make who plays Ohio State? They aren't gonna win anyway.

Just curious, does anyone know how often the national champion team has suffered a loss to an unranked team? Is that a scenario that should really be set in place?

With possibly five or six teams with one loss to ranked teams, does USC really deserve the shot at the title? That Southern Cal bias is just way too much.

While Michigan might just be the second best team, they don't deserve a rematch. They had their shot and they lost. Simple as that. Of course, their one loss is a better loss than that of Florida and USC and obviously they've beaten Notre Dame. So the question of whether they are the second best team is irrelevant. They had their title game and lost. If they were to get a rematch and then beat OSU, how would that be fair to OSU that Michigan is the champion? It wouldn't be fair at all.

If USC were to beat Notre Dame today and UCLA next week, as much as I hate them, they would deserve a shot. Yes, they've skated by all season and suffered a loss to an unranked team. But they've also beaten Arkansas (destroyed them), Notre Dame, and Cal so they would have more quality wins than any of the other contenders.

That is looking much better with Romo under center and dating Jessica Simpson does hurt either!

if michigan remains #2, than they should go to the national title game. and they should remain so, at least they should remain ahead of usc, due to who each one lost to.
has nothing to do with whether they 'deserve' a rematch. they were unlucky enough to have OSU on their regular season schedule. that fact should preclude them from a shot at the title? i don't agree.

but i don't think the outcome of game two would be different if they do meet again.

shame lsu couldn't pull it out at auburn, they'd be in the hunt. but, what can you do? just wait for next year. here's hoping they go to a bowl close by, so i can go...

Default Notre Dame In A Bcs Game

Its a shame West Virginia and Texas and few others lost. Now more than likely we will have to deal with an over hyped Notre Dame in an BCS game. Playing the three service acadamies does not warrant a BCS game. The two times Notre Dame played a top ten team they got thier buttocks handed to them in true fashion. Dont know whatt the fix could be, but thier has to be one. There are already way too many bowl games.
