And Archarcharch's former owners aren't taking this lying down, geez. Anytime I see an article about it, if you check the comments there's for sure gonna be someone claiming to be the owners or basically saying the same thing quoting something about 51 breeding shares, eventually referencing Ferdinand, and saying Spendthrift swore they wouldn't sell overseas and admitting it wasn't written in the contract but still saying they were outsmarted or taken advantage of or something. I just think honey, you can't be naive. Put it in the contract if you're so anxious and you had plenty of time between Ferdinand and 2010 to put some clause about sale overseas in there.

The truth is people don't want their pocketbook to suffer and any time you want to limit what a farm can do to get an ROI on their stallions, it'll mean you get less for said stud deal. They're trying to have their carrots and eat'em too.

Don't even get me started on the comments about how awful it is that horses are sent to other (generally Asian) countries and they're gonna be treated so badly etc. They do not get the same level of outrage going for horses of ours that end up in the UK, Australia or wherever. Wonder why? Hmm.
