Default How has everyone done in past BCs?

I stink at the Derby. That race has cost me more money than any other. You would think that anyone who spends months handicapping it could pick a winner more often.

Anyway the BC has been good to me overall. As a guy that doesn't look to hit home runs and wagers $300 or so a BC day, I have a marginally positive roi over the last 22 years. The 2001 at Belmont was my worst. Lost 200 and a $100 voucher, and had to buy a very thin $50 sweatshirt it was so freakin' cold. The coldest places on earth...1) Storrs CT, 2)Brooklyn, 3) Belmont Park

Don't ask me what happens the rest of the year.

I stink at both (the BC and the Derby)-

My only highlights (in about the 5 or so years I've wagered on it):

A WP win on Singletary in the Mile

A place payoff on Better Talk Now lol. I was so convinced Kitten's Joy was gonna win, I thought I Better Talk Now could be the next best lol.

Don't feel bad. I am a firm believer in exacta boxing and that was one I didn't box

Had Pleasant Home (30-1) tied up in 2 pick 3's last year based on Mr. Byk's advice. Huge day last year and also the year Johannesburg won the Juvenile, other than that up and down.

I have had a few good ones, but not reversing Slew O' Gold with Wild Again in 1984 still stings. These were my best: !992 big win bet on A.P. Indy in the Classic and win bet in the Sprint on longshot Thirty Slews; a reversed exact of Spain over Surfside in the Distaff ; Vindication for a lot in the Juvenile in 2002; Stevie last year in the Juvy and Silver Train in the Sprint. My husband hit both times with his favorite...TIZNOW!

i had a rough run of luck last year, though gorella in the mile showing got me a bunch of the money i lost back as i went after her in the show pool pretty hard.

the year in texas was the best for me -- hit lots of win tickets, had a ouija board/film maker/all trifecta -- and the saddest part of the day was having win bets on the last four winners of the day -- which i believe were ouija board, wilko, better talk now, and ghostzapper. and did not play the pick-4 which returned somewhere around $25,000 i think for $1.

wanted to die

EDIT: there was totally just a post here saying that the p4 returned far less than i had said....and now it's gone. cute.

according to equibase, when i just looked it up now the $1 pick-4 returned $23,395.60, which sounds closer to what i remember it being.

It was me. I was mistaken. Do you remember what else I wrote? I promoted this guy http://www.tripanalysis.com/?selectedPageId=1 who won the bet

you explained his bet, touted that dude, and said it paid around $12,000

neither here nor there, i just got confused and replied to it then didn't want to look like an idiot.

Stink. Until I hit Cajun Beat. That made up for all the bad ones. I had usually only bet the Classic.

I cant wait for the Sprint at Churchill. The Sprint is the money maker. And we got Henny Hughes gonna draw big $$$. We will see if some of these others start coming on. Short distance into a good turn with a long stretch. Very unlike Santa Anita, so it is definitely going to make this race be a great chance for a burnout upfront.

Wish I was better versed in Turf. US pride getting in the way is a good thing. But alas, Turf is not a surface I am suited for. Hate that Euro timeform crapola. Really got to be able to watch all the Euro replays to feel comfy.

I couldnt have hit secretariat in the belmont the way BC day went for me last year. Wasn't even close, i think i even bet two horses that broke down!! Only time i've made money was BC 04 and i put Ghostzapper on top and hit the superfecta in the classic for like 634 bucks. other than that its been ugly, really ugly. Probably just gonna be a fan this year

I only hit one race last year and it didn't pay. That was my worst. The two previous days at Churchill were pretty good ones for me, particularly the 2000 event.

I made a boat load of money on Lite De Justice the year he beat Capote Belle. I would've had the late pick 3 the year Swain got beat by Frankie D whipping his arse into sudmission down the lane. My wifey had Cat Thief $50 to win she also had Spain $20 or so to win so I should listen to her I guess.
