![]() Anybody else find this race odd?
It's not a loser's gripe, I lost all of $40 on the last place finisher, but just puzzlement over the way the race was run. Certainly it was a bad field, and while I find the winner surprising, he certainly wasn't impossible relative to the other horses in the field. However, he skirted to an instant and quickly widening lead, in fairly tepid fractions, despite both Stevie Ray Gone and Tiz Stormin appearing to possess significantly greater early speed. He cruised around the racetrack as though he was running in a completely different universe than his opponents. Anybody else watch this race and have either a reasonable explanation or share my confusion? |

![]() You bet the same " horse " as I did.
Yeah, I don't think his fractions were especially surprising ( though we will have to watch the rest of the day ) just that he was out there setting them by himself ( or even in the lead at all ). |

![]() I looked at Levine's horse....but I figured if he was ready off the claim Coa or someone a bit stronger than Chantal would have been up. I had the winner, but the bet was made more based on the price offered in a very weak field. No way was I gonna take 9/2 or less that was offered on the favorites. I know the winner was trying open company for the first time..but I didn't think he had to be a monster to beat the field.
All in all...a lucky guess I reckon. |
