Default 2/7: Gulfstream (10th-13th); Santa Anita (6th-9th)

GULFSTREAM

POST-SCRATCHES

10th: 72nd Suwannee River H. (G3), F&M-4+, 9f-T/84' (P4, P3, DD)

Very deep group of authentic G3 type turf ladies with most of the obvious players stacked up on the outside half of the barrier in a race that should have an honest pace. Recent Chad Brown acquisitions Cay Dancer (9-2) SCR'D and underachieving Rosalind (6-1) the place to start considerations beyond Mott's White Rose (4-1) & Pletcher's Sandiva (7-2) who are the deserving ML faves. Bitty Kitty (12-1) and Scampering (8-1) offer value as ground-saving, mid-pack stalkers..

Most Likely: #8 Sandiva 7-2 WON ($6.20)
Next Best: #10 Rosalind 6-1 2nd
Best Value: #3 Scampering 8-1 3rd
Exotics Use: #13 White Rose 4-1 5th
Super Add: #2 Bitty Kitty 12-1 7th

11th: 30th Fred Hooper (G3), 4+, 1m (P3, DD)

Jersey Town was Barclay Tagg's last main track graded stakes winner and Confrontation will draw comparisons to him as the season progresses. The War Pass gelding has shown steady development with age and exits an admirable, if unsuccessful, duel with Donn fave Lea in the Hal's Hope. Reuniteds with Rajiv Maragh here and may be a reliable horse to lean on in tricky sequence with pace scenario ideal for his just off stalking tactics..

Most Likely: #3 Confrontation 5-1 4th
Next Best: #10 Valid 4-1 WON ($10.20)
Exotics Use: #7 Race Day 3-1 3rd
Best Value: #12 Ulanbator 15-1 7th
Super Add: #5 Mosler 8-1 9th

12th: 33rd GP Turf H. (G1), 4+, 9f-T/84' (DD)

Pletcher fave Mshawish only need repeat recent efforts to win, but Clement and Brown challengers appear in range..

Most Likely: #1 Mshawish 7-2 WON ($4.80)
Next Best: #7 Slumber 4-1 2nd
Best Value: #6 War Correspondent 8-1 3rd
Exotics Use: #8 Lochte 5-1 7th
Super Add: #4 Grand Tito 15-1 5th

13th: 60th Donn H. (G1), 4+, 9f (Super Hi-5)

As much as I'd like to create alternative scenario to defending winner repeating, it appears he's as good or better now than a year ago. Pletcher players offer legit challenge, but Lea clearly the likeliest lining up..

Most Likely: #4 Lea 9-5 2nd
Best Value: #8 Protonico 6-1 9th
Next Best: #2 Commissioner 4-1 6th
Exotics Use: #9 Blue Tone 15-1 7th

Best Value: #4 Power Ped 9-2 2nd

8th: 77th San Antonio Inv. H. (G2), 4+, 9f (DD)

Exciting match-up of West Coast's best publicized 2014 sophomores in HOY Cal Chrome and unlucky Shared Belief, with added intrigue of solid Baffert 'B' team G1 winner Hoppertunity. Pace picture interesting with 30-1 Alfa Bird the speed and the 'Big 3' lining up behind him. Looks like using the top pair is safe approach as something odd would need to happen to put outsider in winner's circle..

Most Likely: #8 California Chrome 6-5 2nd
