Default RIP Sunshine Forever

http://www.drf.com/news/sunshine-for...es-old-friends

Haskin just posted this on FB:

Quote:
Michael Blowen on Sunshine Forever, who was found dead in his paddock: "I want to thank everyone who ever fed him a carrot or petted him or bet on him or bred to him or just smiled when they saw him. You are the ones who had the privilege of knowing how extra special he was in a very special place. He was my favorite and I don't think I'll ever have a sadder moment then being with his body alone in the cold."
So sorry for Michael to lose two horses this week, esp. given how much Sunshine Forever in particular meant to him.

Very sad news, but tempered somewhat by the comfort given him at Old Friends and what he represented for the farm. You did him well, Michael.

RIP Sunshine.

i'm sorry, but i cant be the only one wondering why a 29 year old horse was outside when our actual temp was 5 below zero and our wind chills were 30 below. i fully understand that at his age he could go at any time... but that weather is no place for any horse let alone an aged horse. he should have been inside. period.
