Default Keeneland Fall Meet - Poly, Trakus and Beer. OH MY!

http://www.kentucky.com/mld/kentucky...l/15579637.htm

I'm tempted to make the trip this Saturday to see the new and improved(?) Keeneland. I'm not sold on poly but it's here and it's not going to keep me from playing the ponies and getting drunker than Cooter Brown on a perfect fall afternoon.

Any of you plan on going?

Nah, I think it does too. It has a lighter color and texture. I think that it enhances and illuminates the surrounding landscape.

Makes me want to vomit!!

Thanks PP, the Bengals got drilled yesterday and now I have to have this to remind me of how bad Keeneland is going to be...The Fall Meet at KEE was by far my best Meet of the year, for the last 4 years, had a signer out of it...I was in Lexington last Weekend, must have had 20 people ask me what weekends I was coming down for KEE, they were all stunned when I told them I was boycotting Keeneland...

Poly, Trackus, and beer, oh my....... HAHAHA! Too funny.

I took a "test run" on the stuff during the Sept. sale. It feels dead - cushions the shock of your run 100%. No reverb up your legs... hard to describe.

The track improvements look unbelievable, but the weird thing is that the wire casings in the track mix look JUST like ice cream rainbow sprinkles. The whole track's full of 'em.

I actually took a gallop around the track on my horse last week. The surface is outstanding. The new improvements to the tote board is also awesome. The track is much flatter now. The old track actually had a 9 foot height difference from the outside to the inside. It was insane. This should be the greatest meet in the history of Keeneland. Trainers love it, owners love it and jocks love it.

Really, I took Bernardini for a gallop last week around Keeneland and he didn't really grab the surface well, most commented that it was kind of funny to see a 210 pound jockey, but I told them Albertrani wanted him to train with the extra weight so he can outrun Spanish Rabbit...

Really? I took Butterface out for a 4 furlong work on Sunday morning. There was a strong headwind in our face but we still went a strong 47 and change. She was chomping on the bit and on the muscle. I like the surface so much I am giving serious thought to moving my tack down there. I am so proud of her, she is such a hard knocker, game old campaigner.

Not my race horse, my own horse. Of course we were there to watch my race horse gallop. My race horse had a slight mishap a couple of weeks ago so we have to take her out of training. She just jogged around the track one time. She is doing so-so.

if you're going to have the Burgoo take along some rolaids
thenew track looks great...and that tote system w/ the HD moniter is amazing, I loved Keeneland (for the atmoshpere not the betting) before but it looks even better after the renovations.

That is funny. I have 1000 reasons why I should lose weight, but for some reason nachos, beer, cheese and doritos always trump those reasons.

Peanut M&M's and Iced Venti White Chocolate Mocha's from Starbucks tend to stand in my way

The Chocolate Chip cookies Gander's wife made while I was there last month didn't help either.

LOL...poor Timmy turned his back for a few seconds and *poof*....they were gone
