Default Hurricane Sandy could devastate Breeder's Cup handle

No links to give.

This Hurricane is stalling. It should gain strength. It's already surpassed the strength of the perfect storm. Leaves are still on trees. Probability of widespread power outages up and down the coast all the way to Albany, NY and western Virginia.

There is a very good chance power outages will be widespread for days.

It's something to consider...especially with bankroll. Pools could be significantly lower. Especially on Friday.

This could significantly reduce my personal B.C. handle, maybe to nothing, and I will be pissed. And in the dark.

we're supposed to go to the delmarva peninsula (chincoteague, va) in a few weeks; hopefully that plan won't have to be changed.

I guess we'll know in a few days. Got hammered big time by Irene and Ike last year so my hopes are not up.

Awww, Chincoteague! My family used to go there every summer when was growing up. I've never been there in autumn. I hope you don't have to change plans, too!

been going since i was little. my parents bought a small place there about 30 years ago. you should try going in late fall/winter. they open trails that are closed most of the year.
i'm excited about going, haven't been able to make the trip there in a few years, other places have been on the agenda. i love going there, and it's one of the things i miss about moving down here.

but, my avatar-tony and i just bought that property a few weeks back. 42 acres on a mountain top on bull shoals lake. have dreamed for years about having such a place so we are thrilled about it.

Looks like the Euro model is coming to fruition. The millibar drop the past 24 hours has been pretty phenomenal all things considered.

And the storm is headed towards warmer water the closer it gets to shore.

Best of luck to the Derby Trailers in the path of this storm.

Business is starting to pick up around here. Can't even phantom how people in the south deal with this on a consistant basis.

We dont, hurricanes wreak havoc no matter where they land. Stock up on beer and gasoline, and dont forget the ATM. cash is the only thing that works when the lights are out!

The evacuations are the worst part.

East Rutherford very close to Moonachie, where I read a levee burst, leading to all sorts of flooding.
