Smile Timonium Hon 8/26/11

Since I am an old fart I remember when the Opening of the Maryland State fair and Timonium Race track was a big deal. With the recent woes of Maryland racing, not so much anymore. I still remember the "The king of the Mid Atlantic Spa" Jesse Davidson riding many many winners on those tight turns. Anybody else remember those glorious days of yesteryear. Pardon the nostalgia I believe it comes with old age.

I will be betting Timoniom! Was glad to see I have a few Stable Mail'ers in.

Probably about the 42nd track I'll have bet this year.

Back to Timonium, Back in Time
by Joe Clancy

It all came back pretty quickly. The hay, the straw, the horses, the mornings, the pressure (or what I thought was pressure), the mixed aroma of oats, manure, medicine, the muffled announcements at the Toyota dealership next door. Mostly, I heard the banter . . .

I love the place too but it's difficult to make any money there. Who cares really now that I think about it after reading the great article that Old Dog posted.

I miss Bowie too. I might as well throw in Freestate while I'm at it.
