Default The Grand National

Anyone want to talk about it?

Once again I will have my picks and once again I will not be watching... not until after the fact and depending on the number of fallers.

Personally this might seem awful but I'm glad my pick, The Package, has been ruled out.

Out of those who are left I like Planet of Sound, Black Apalachi, Seabass, Cappa Bleu and of course Neptune Collonges.

Anyone watching? Rooting? Excited? Horrified?

I won't be watching. This race isn't my thing at all.

My absolute favorite horse in the race won... Neptune paid $67.20.

I didn't bet the race because that's just something I can't do. I never bet jumps races. Not ever.

While I am thrilled that he joins his illustrious stablemates Kauto Star and Denman in a kind of greatness now I am just really really saddened but the deaths of Synchronised and According to Pete.

A lot of people thought it woud be Synchronised who won...

Just very sad.

Check this photo out. Holy cow that's close, esp. for a race like this. All the things that can happen, and you miss by the hair of your chinny chin chin. That'd be my luck.

I know, that is crazy.

I've seen the picture but no way can I watch the race.

What do you think, Merlinsky? I mean I am horrified that Synchronised dumped AP and ran loose and yet was allowed to race. It's really easy to be thousands of miles away in the comfort of my own home shouting my opinion but gee... I cannot understand why it was allowed.

Apparently the BBC did a really nice piece on the owners of Pete right before the race...

How many runners allowed... 40?

Something needs to be done. Something needs to change. Too many horses for starters...

Sick to my stomach thinking about it.

What do you think?
