Default Happy Ticket

Was she a sprinter?
The drf closer look comment calls her a sensational sprinter. I remember her running in all the big races for older gals. Aqueduct Race 2 tomorrow. #1 is a half to Happy Ticket by Bernardini. Hoping he can run a bit, but who knows with this very late debut.

She started out as a sprinter. The Beldame was her first major route race, and I don't think she ever sprinted again. In her 11 starts prior to the Beldame, she had three route races, all of which were Labred stakes. Her sprint wins included the Ballerina and Chicago BC. She also finished second to Madcap Escapade in the Princess Rooney.

Almost 4yo and Zito first timer... hopefully you get some juicy odds but such a short field it doesn't look likely.

In 2006 Happy Ticket ran in the Azeri Stakes at Oaklawn. She finished second to Round Pond. What a race. It was one of the most exciting races I ever saw.

They also ran 1-2 in the BC Distaff that year and paid a deliciously ripe $446 for the exacta. That was one of my best BC's ever...and could have been phenomenal if not for Thor's Echo. I still don't like Thor's Echo.

They didn't run 1-2 in that Distaff.

Well played Andy. I had to consult the charts because you had me confused. My memory is not that good.

It would have been especially funny if one of the redboarding suspects had written that.

You're correct. I remembered the DQ vividly, just too lazy to post about it last night, truthfully.

Did I mention I still have zero love for Thor's Echo?
