Default Romney tells two gays he's against their marriage

So, Mitt is campaigning in New Hampshire, and sees this veteran in the diner. Runs over to the vet and introduced himself, and asks to sit down with the veteran and another man at the table.

Veteran asks Mitt about his position on gay marriage. Mitt reiterates marriage is only between man and women. Guy wishes Mitt "good luck, you'll need it" and makes a few other comments.

Turns out, after Mitt moves on to another table, that the veteran is gay, and the guy sitting with him is his husband. They were married in New Hampshire. The guy will not be voting for Mitt.

To be fair, Obama hasn't exactly been a strong supporter of gay marriage either. There is no doubt that a Republican in the White House would be a step backwards for gay rights but I suspect they see Obama only as the lesser of two evils.

i'd be cautious about writing off the guy with the most money and best organization.

i get that gingrich has momentum but he doesn't have a lot of feet on the ground. he's trying to build an organization now. three weeks before iowa.

romney has staying power. he can take losses in the early states (although florida would be a serious problem) and still move on. gingrich is walking a knifes edge where any shift in the wind guts his fundraising.

but we're talking about a party that at state levels has made some insane candidate choices. if newt can avoid being newt for a few months, who knows?

as someone who'll vote for obama, i'm rooting for the guy. he polls a lot worse than romney with independants.

It's the Democratic wet dream to go up against Newt instead of Romney. Some say the Dem ad that came out about Newt should help him in Iowa - and it's also speculated the Dems did that on purpose

But I'll guess Newt won't be able to continue to hold his real self in, like he did at the debate. He's already got the staunch Republican old-school reaming him unabashedly in public.

I think Obama vs. Ron Paul would be the best thing for this country. Just wipe all the crazy and hate out of the political system for a while. Gawd, how refreshing.

Obama may be the lesser of two evils, but DADT is gone.

Why? one of those two candidates sucks horribly. It would at least be a little better with Hillary vs Ron Paul.

My point is that those two candidates don't engage in the hate and bigotry of the other political viewpoint currently at the forefront in this country.

It would be nice to talk about the place of government in citizen's lives, rather than how someone's religion makes them want to force the entire rest of the country to live according to their religious viewpoint via law.
