![]() DIALED IN OUT OF TRAINING, KNEE SURGERY NEXT WEEK
ELMONT, N.Y. – Dialed In, winner of this year’s Grade 1 Florida Derby and fourth in the Grade 1 Preakness, will have surgery next week on a chip in his right knee and will be taken out of training for a undetermined period of time, according to Hall of Fame trainer Nick Zito. The following is a statement from Zito on Robert LaPenta’s 3-year-old Mineshaft colt: “Dialed In will be out of training for awhile. He has a chip in the right knee. We noticed there was something different with the knee. Dr. Migliacci took some pictures, X-rays, on the 25th of May, which was after the Preakness and there was no problem, but there is now. Dr. Bramlage will do the surgery next week and he will be back in training soon. Bob LaPenta and I, and all my staff, were looking forward to the Travers. Unfortunately, that will not happen. I am grateful that he was the favorite in the Kentucky Derby and ran in the Preakness for the $5 million bonus. But I am disappointed, along with Bob, that he did not get a fair chance in those races. Hopefully as a 4-year-old he will get back to where he belongs.”

![]() I thought the main gripe about both Dialed In's classic efforts was that he was kept too far off the pace.
Not saying I buy into that, but it seemed to be an acceptable excuse for Animal Kingdom's Preakness loss, so why not Dialed In? |

To me - the weird horse is Shakleford. He's only run two decent races in his entire life - the Florida Derby and Preakness - and both times they absolutely let him rip early on. Shakleford's Kentucky Derby 4th was a terrible performance because of the pace - and his Belmont performance was equally terrible - basically he hated the restraint and the two piece of sh!t who sat 2nd and 3rd behind him (Ruler On Ice and Stay Thirsty I believe are the names of those two horses) inherited the lead and winning exacta when he stopped. I was telling people before the Belmont: "If Castanon doesn't have 15 on this field in a blink of an eye - he's riding his horse wrong. That horse runs like sh!t when they try to nurse his speed - and when he goes fast - at least he pulls everyone behind him out of their comfort zone all the way back through the deepest closers in the race" |

![]() Because AK won the Kentucky Derby and almost won the Preakness, while Dialed In's best race out of those two was a sh!tty suck up in the Derby?

![]() How about the Arc? Or his maiden race at KEE....I am grasping here...Either way, the silence from the NY crowd on these hideous Zito comments is deafening. If Mullins had said it, it would be the talk of the town.

He's an assclown Dahoss and took away from the other performances with that nonsense talk. Trainerspeak shouldn't be glossed over as acceptable. As much as I disagree with Chuck on here on a regular basis he isn't a phony and gives you a serious opinion about racing subjects including other trainers. Silence is acceptance. Shine the light on the cockroaches or live in a shi.thole, your choice. |

![]() You miss the point. And whether it is trainer speak or not, Baffert gets bashed, rightfully so, for his bullshit dodge in NY and Zito gets crickets for this laughable display on top of his comments anointing a slow FL Derby winner as the second coming about how special he is. Let's hope he turns out to be as special as Ice Box

![]() Unacceptable. You are only as good as the company you keep. Would Farish make or sanction comments like this? Or shug? We should aspire to better as a racing community.
