![]() Finally, Friday nights at Hollywood are back.
Early seems to look on the chalky side, while there might be some opportunities for some prices later in the card. Looking forward towards the Hollywood gang getting back together tonight. Good Luck! RACE 1- STARTER ALW 40 1 1/16 MILES START OF THE PICK 5 #3 QUITE AN HONOUR(1st $9.00)- Sadler runner making his first start in over a month. Last out he broke his maiden for 30k. Not much speed in the race and he should be forwardly placed behind the 2 STAR NAVIGATOR whom he went right past in that maiden score. Probably try to work out a stalking trip near the front. Tossing the last race on the sod, where he broke slowly and was never involved, he finished right behind the main pack who were chasing a runaway winner. #4 BRASS PLATE(3rd)-Other Sadler runner in the race, who is also coming back after a month hiatus. He's another who will probably try to work that stalking trip. Rosairo gets the mount on this colt as he rode the 3 last time as well. RACE 2-MD50K CLAIMER fillies 6 FURLONGS EARLY PICK 4 #4 DANGEROUS ANGEL(2nd)-Wasn't disgraced in her debut, while running 4th chasing a 2-5 shot around the track in maiden special company. Drops in for a tag for a trainer who is dangerous on that angle. Any improvement off that last race probably gets her to the winner's circle #5 BLACK SOX-Sadler and Rosario again with this first time starter that has steady drills leading in to her debut race. The water doesn't seem too deep here, so if she has any type of ability she has a chance. Sadler is 3/9 on the year when debuting horses in the claiming ranks. #2 MY JOYCIE(3rd)-Filly was last seen up north almost a month ago when she was eased/vanned off in maiden special company. Now shes back with two sharp drills, a slight drop and picks up Bejerano in the irons. Barn has been ice cold this year, but I find her interesting and hope she might be a price. RACE 3 O/C 62K N2X fillies 1 1/16 MILES #1 AMERICAN STORY(1st $3.20)-Seems like the capt obvious horse here. Stakes placed in her last two races at Sunland and Remington. Looks like she has tactile speed and also could rate. Might be a single on some tickets. #5 LEA THE PUNISHER-Coming off the bench for Papa Mandella, she has hit the board in 6 out of her 7 starts (2 wins including one at tonight's distance). In her debut in August she finished a head behind American Story. She should be forwardly placed. RACE 4 CLAIMING 10K 1 1/16 MILES #6 EASY ON THE EYE- Looking for his fourth win in a row. Race seems to set up for this 9 year old as there seems to be a couple of horses who might want the lead. Expect a short price on him. #2 SEVEN SECRETS(1st $6.00)- Eight year old will probably be the one on the lead. He seems to be better around two turns and if he gets a break for some reason he could be a threat to go wire to wire. Two horses to consider using #3 JUST HEAT(2nd)-Making his 2nd start off a layoff, he won off a slight break for 7k. Stalk/closing type who could get a good pace to close in to, but he is going back on the poly where he is only 2/19 on synthetics. #5 JACK O' LANTERN- 5 year old making only his 9 career start. Showed some promise winning a Grade 3 here at Hollywood as a 2 year old. Just missed last out, losing to JUST HEAT by a length. Could be rounding back into form. RACE 5 CLAIMING 25L N2L 6 FURLONGS START OF LATE PICK 4 This one is a head scratcher between horses dropping and horses coming off layoffs #3 MILLIONDOLLARBILL-Was a 150k purchase at the FTS sale of 08. Daughter of Speightstown looks to be the horse in the best form as of now. #8 JACOBITA-last seen about 2 months ago when she broke her maiden for 50k in gate to wire fashion. A little concerned about the freshening after two races, but she could be lone speed. #9 RUSSIAN RIVER(1st $4.00)-Mike Mitchell mare is dropping in for a tag for the first time. She has been fairly competitive in alw company and now is getting some class relief. Two others to consider #1 STUNNINGLY(3rd)-Mike Puype mare coming back from over a year layoff. She's only making her 9th career start and it will be the first time she's in for a tag. She's hit the board in all 4 attempts at 6 panels. Watch the board for some clues. #5 SEACHI- Claimed by Kathy Walsh 3 back for 62K. Now she's in for 25k after a third on 2/21 and running last on 3/13 in a starter allw race. That was on the downhill turf course and she set some quick early fractions. That race could be a toss, plus she drwas Rosario. If you aren't scared about the drop then she is definitely playable. RACE 6 MD SP WT 1 MILE turf #6 EXTRA FIFTY-Just missed across town at the same level and distance. Adds the shades and should be a little closer to the pace today. He has a couple of solid works leading into the race. #11 JOKER FACE-Making his second career start, in his debut he was nailed at the wired at Santa Anita after coming from way out of it. Thinking the extra distance might help him. #8 LEMOU-Almost blew up the board at 39-1 last time losing by a game nose while trying to go wire to wire. Might be dismissed on the board again and any kind of improvement should put him right in the thick of it again tonight. #1 CAUSEITHERTZ(3rd)-Keep waiting for this well bred four year old to earn his diploma. Gets the rail and should be forwardly placed today. Has ran second in is two attempts around 2 turns. RACE 7 O/C 40K/N1X fillies 1 1/16 MILES #3 BAR ROCK OMAMA-Has been a different horse since coming back in October. Has been 1st or 2nd in his last 5 starts. Shades come off and has shown the ability to be ready off the bench for Jeff Mullins. #4 LOVE THE WAY YOUARE(1st $16.20)-Coming off her maiden victory on Apr 1st at tonights distance. A couple of front runners in the race might give her something to close into. #1 DAVE'S REVENGE-Possible price play here. Her third start of a long layoff and before her vacation she was very competitive at this level. She could be rounding back into form and should be a square price. RACE 8 MAIDENS 20K 6 FURLONGS #6 BLIND MAGIC(2nd)-This 4 year old looks to be the speed of the race, he's a gate to wire threat who is making his 3rd career start. Anything close to his last race probably gets him his diploma. #5 ME SALTY(1st $7.20)-Drops another level after running fouth last time for 30k. He was horribly wide in that race and sports a bullet leading into tonights race. #8 TUBA MAN-Coming off a 7 month break this 4 year old has hit the board in 4 out of 5 career starts. Solid works leading into the race. This is also the lowest level he's run at. He's the only one in the field with any kind of mild success running on the fake stuff. See everyone at 10PM tonight.........................
