Another dubious Derby starter courtesy of synthetic surfaces.

Daniel Borislew and the Bellamy Road Sexton guy have nothing on this Steve Bajer. I wonder what his credentials are. Certainly they must be better than a BC Classic/Belmont/Queen's Plate-winning trainer.

Ten years from now if someone were to ask me to read this story and guess what Derby year it was from I would have no trouble coming up with 2011. Par for this year's course.

This thing was a joke from the start. Taking him from Hofmans and giving him to Petalino was idiotic. If the horse's final destination was going to be Hushion's barn then he should have just gone there from the start. I'm quite certain Hushion would have gotten a little bit more out of him than Petalino did (not saying much).
