It wasn't impossible there today.. Couple of horses you needed to go deep to reach, but there weren't any complete 'defy explanation' types today.

Was just thinking -- the 1, 2, 10 were live to unique tickets in the finale.

For the sake of supposing that one person held all three potential winning combos, the final 1/8 of a mile had to look great, two of your horses running 1-2 and clearly in command.

Now, they get close a few yards out.

What happens if they dead-heat for the win? Are you no longer holding a unique ticket and you get nothing but consolations? Was just thinking about how feeling great at the 1/16 pole could've gone to the world's all-time worst beat with a difference of a couple noses if that's how the rules play.

The following is from the GP website but I have no idea how to interpret it.

(3) If a dead heat for first occurs in any of the Rainbow 6 races:
(a) For contestants representing the same betting interest, the
Rainbow 6 pool shall be distributed as if no dead heat occurred.
(b) For contestants representing two or more betting interests, the
Rainbow 6 pool shall be distributed as a single price pool with each winning
wager receiving an equal share.

The fact that Freddy was mystified renders that P6 sequence unhittable?

$640 ticket takes the pool. 6400 combinations was certainly the kind of coverage that would put you in the hunt to take down that sextet. Would be a $12,800 play in a normal $2 P6 scenario.

Steve, your ability to see 'price' horses is the key to keeping tickets alive.
I guess if everyone could do it the payoffs would be small. Last Sunday for example you had a 12-1 shot as a single. In the old days I would have spread that race with favs. After 2 1/2 years of listening to your show and playing your picks when I see 12-1 single I play it strong and know that you see something in that race that 90% of other players don't.

If I love a 12/1 shot the last place I am going to spread funds around is a pik 6. 12/1 is a terriffic win bet if you think a horse is a tremendous underlay. I dont see the value in adding 5 other races into an equation. Not saying I couldnt play a pik 6 tix also but why?

TwinSpires Player Takes Down First Rainbow Six Jackpot at Gulfstream
Friday, January 28
3:03 pm • Tags: Twinspires

A TwinSpires.com player turned a dime base wager into a $221,677.41 return Thursday by hitting the first ever Rainbow Six jackpot from Gulfstream Park. The player, who did not want to be identified, reacted to his score by saying, ""I heard the commentators on TV say there was only one ticket alive to the 1, 2 and 10, but they were talking about a person holding all three numbers on the same ticket and I only had the 1 on mine. I wasn't sure until I saw the payout - then I was very happy."
When asked how he put the ticket together he reacted by saying, ""I use a handicapping program and add my own input from the past performances. I love playing the Pick 6 at Gulfstream because it is 10 cents and I can spread a little wider. I've had some luck with it - I hit a $1,600 ticket the other day - and play it every day at Gulfstream. When I play the races from home, I use TwinSpires.com"

Now that the wager has been hit, Gulfstream is jumpstarting the Rainbow Six on Friday by seeding the pool with $15,000. The Rainbow Six only pays out its carryover pool only when the winner of the Pick Six is a single ticket holder.
