Agree that the Crist segment was highly engaging Fred. I wouldn't say Crist is down on racing's future as much as he appears resigned to the game's general intractability. That puts him of course in the same spot as Satish. I'm afraid that a number of the leaders in the various industry segments, or areas of expertise, have tired of trying to gain the momentum needed to overwhelm certain selfish forces that dominate too much of the sport's decision-making.

I don't think Satish and Crist are on the same page. Crist is resigned to government quasi control even if he recognizes the stupidity of it. Satish is still a believer that radical chande should be the future. Two brilliant guys two completely opposite outlooks.

I am with Satish.. Nobody wants less.. We keep adding more insignificant tracks because they are subsidized by slots/gambling.. Ok I get its good short term but were is the future in big time racing in New Mexico, Indiana, Olk, etc.

The friggin 3rd race at Aqueduct hasnt filled past 7 in 5 years. most days its a field of 5 running for 48k? HUH? 5 years 5 days a week and they have never gotten 8 friggin horses? Hello?
