![]() Thebby has one I believe and Joe the Dude bought a Hook and Ladder as a gift for me and I love it. They're great. Barbara Neal was on ATR with me Friday to remind people of the end of this edition. They are typically twice a year, but Barbara said there is another special auction in January.

Just thinking that if you really want one by a particular horse, it might be an idea to solicit your friends to give you donations to Re-Run so you can pool them? You can often get tail hair and shoes from a barn, if you schmooze the appropriate people while there ![]() ![]()

Eclipse Awards On Jan 26th, 2009, Curlin won the Eclipse Award for older male horse of the year and for the second year in a row was named Horse of the Year. I wasn't able to find this exact passage on Wikipedia, but if it's out there, it appears that the person who wrote it is a little confused about the year the statue is awarded vs the year that it's awarded for. Also, it's apparent that the writer scanned the HOTY table and determined that the only horses to win the award twice did it back-to-back, thereby excluding John Henry.....a pretty good horse that won his 2 HOTY titles in non-consecutive years. Wikipedia's great, but it's not Britannica, and it's certainly not the American Racing Manual. |
