Default They are only human you know.....

But there sure have been quite a few horses at PID with wide trips who get the comment "rail" in their running line.

* Livingstonbell ran on Aug 17th against an inside-speed favoring track. He's the exact kind of horse you look for .. a wide post and wide trip against a very slow pace - and yet he still manages to pass and outrun several horses. However, his comment in the DRF says "closed willingly, rail"

As you can see - he's the grey horse and he was 6 wide on the first turn...

Six wide on the backstretch ....

And five wide on the far turn....

After his extremely wide trip last out while supposedly racing on the "rail" - he was bet down strongly from his 8-to-1 morning line and easily won todays first race by a couple lengths paying $7.80 to win.
