Not sure if he still does, but I think he had a pretty decent ROI in CA for a while.

Me as well, he is smart and never quits on a horse. He won some stakes at DM on some serious shots.

Chop Chop....

especially if he's on a live mount in New York especially the last race of the card. One of the few jocks that can doll out a front runners energy to get just enough out of the horse to win. He doesn't get as many live horses anymore but when he does, a price can be had.

Honorable mention to Brice B. on a closer in a turf route in So Cal.

Michael Martinez was the price jock in northern California until his recent injury. People would always bet Russell Baze so he'd end up on the 2-1 or less horse and Michael would be on a 6-1 shot and win. If you wanted at good priced winner at GGF, you bet Michael... damn, I miss that kid already!

Yep.

I had more than one spontaneous bets on Michael Martinez mounts that gave me tickets to collect at the Pleasanton fair meet. I think I made 9 days of racing and came out in the black for about 7 of them.

We've had a few vet bills in the last several weeks for our 13 year old Australian Shepherd. She's fine now. I keep telling her she's lucky I had a very good summer of gambling....

I'm a big fan of seeing horses in the paddock and in the post parade before making wagers.

In recent years I've also started to factor in rider and trainer demeanors. For right or wrong.

The first day I watched Michael Martinez at the track live, I looked for ways to include him in my bets.

Funny stuff. Chavez blows. First race, last race, every race in between. There's a reason he doesn't get live horses anymore.

It takes real prowess to turn a mention of a jockey in critical condition into yet another colossal redboard.

ATEAMSTUPID, you apparently put great diligence into seeking your definition of "redboarders."

What is it, going on 3AM back east?

Yes, your redboarding is real hard to find. I'm gonna make sure it turns 3 a.m. first, then I'll tell you it was 3 a.m. and it was amazing.
