![]() I was saddened to learn that actor Bruno Kirby died yesterday of leukemia at the age of 57. For those of you who don't know the name, you all have seen him in a million things. He co-starred with Billy Crystal in both "When Harry Met Sally" and "City Slickers".
He played the by-the-rules lieutentant who lacked a sense of humor in "Good Morning Vietnam". He was the co-star of "The Freshman" with Matthew Brodderick and Marlon Brando. He played Marlon Brando's nephew. I loved the scene at the beginning of the movie when he stole Matthew Broderick's luggage and Matthew Broderick was chasing him down the street. Kirby was also in "Tin Men" and "This Is Spinal Tap". He was in a ton of other movies too. I can't believe he was 57. I thought he was in his late 40s. He was a really good actor and seemed like a really good guy. He will be missed. Last edited by Rupert Pupkin : 08-18-2006 at 03:16 AM. |

![]() I liked Bruno Kirby a lot as well and it's sad he's passed at a young age.
Along with the films noted, he played a young Clemenza in The Godfather Part II who helps Vito (DeNiro) with some carpet. RIP Bruno Kirby. |

![]() thats too bad, i thought he was a good actor.
he always seemed young yet he's been around forever. I liked him in the Godfather II "Vito , Vito" also in Donnie Brasco which was a good movie. I think he got whacked in that one. RIP Bruno |

![]() I liked it in the movie "The Freshman" when he told Mattheew Broderick that he couldn't pay him back what he stole from him because "we've been taking a beating with the horses." Matthew Broderick was furious. He said, "You lost my money betting on a horse?" Kirby said something like, "I can assure you it was a good bet. We didn't bet your money on some longshot with no chance. This was a respectable bet. It was a 6-1 shot."

![]() Did any of you ever see the movie "Modern Romance"? That movie was hilarious. That's one of my favorite movies. That was with Albert Brooks and Bruno Kirby.
