Default Travers and King Bishop PP's

I am sure most everyone can get these off DRF from race of the week, but maybe this will help someone out.

Thanks buddy...saves me time.

So Lewis Micheal is cross entered at toga and fairmount? Probably scratching out of here I would think.

I don't think I'll be betting either race. I like the chalk( Henny and Bernardini) in both races.

Surely doesn't seem to be alot of value in either race. Star Dabbler intriuges me in the Kings Bishop. Seems to be improving with every race and this one is his 2nd off a layoff. Has a good race over the track and the last work seems to show he may be sitting on a top effort. Is that top effort good enough though? Thats why they race.

I was really hoping that Too Much Bling would show up in the King's Bishop to take on Henny and Songster, but it looks like we'll have to wait a little longer to see that matchup.

Where is Bling going next anyways?

Reminds me a lot of last year's Travers Card (at least the later races). Huge on talent but short priced horses who look very tough to beat. At least in this year's Kings Bishop it is a large field with pace for Henny to deal with.

Anyways, Saturday's card as a whole looks wonderful and if you cant get excited over it, you arent a horse racing fan. I guess my advice to you is go check out the St. Louis Derby!

If anybody is beating Henny, its Court Folly. Theres no reason not to think he wont get ample pace to run at. Whether or not hes good enough and ridden cleverly enough are the question marks. I think hes the best alternative to just singling Henny or skipping the race.

What do you guys think?

Thanks kev. Printed them up. I will give my thoughts after lunch when I have time to look at them.

One question: Do you guys think High Cotton will try and set it up for BGC?

Why would he do that? Owned by different people. He has to be viewed as a contender in his own right. Why would the owner want to acrifice this horse just so Pletcher can win this with a horse he doesnt own?

I think High Cotton's too talented a horse to be used up as a rabbit, but I don't doubt that there will definitely be some two-on-one strategy involving Bluegrass Cat and High Cotton.

I was just wondering. I don't know if High Cotton is good enough for the top two. Now I have liked him all along the triple crown road, but I don't know if he is as good so I was wondering if they may use him as a way to try and help BGC. That was all.

But I guess he is good enough to take a shot at the big two. He deserves to be in the race.

Didn't High Cotton win a stakes on the Preakness undercard? The Sir Barton maybe?

Yes, Gomez rode him that day. It was a spectacular performance Slot. If you can, try and watch a replay of it.

You gotta love how Garbaldi cost his owners like 1.3 million, plus fees to get him ready for the races, which Rupert/Oracle/Lansdon would probably have a better idea on estimating that

And now they throw the horse into a Grade 1, would it not be awesome for him to win this, Tabor would have a fit, tkaes some serious balls to claim for 100k, especially this rat.

As far as the race, I think it is all Henny Hughes, but I wouldn't argue with the people that say he could have trip problems from the rail, I am guessing he hugs the rail and sits the pocket the whole time, it will be dependent on Johnny cakes shooting the hole, which he does pretty well

And as far as Bernardini, their isn't a horse race where he would get a better trip then this one. It is all dependent on Javy not chasing the 46 quarter that is going to ensure, if he is 4-5 lengths off, turn the race off because Bern wins for fun then

I'm intrigued by this one as well. Wonder what kind of price we'll get on him. There is plenty of speed, the cheaper kind and the classy kind, so if nothing else, he'll be coming late.

Please stop smoking the green stuff, this horse won't finish in the top 50% in this race, IMO
