Default Biancone Returns to New York

Zip Quik, trained by racing's favorite snake charmer, is entered in Thursday's Saratoga Special. Rather than running around trying to enact silly rules about forcing owners and trainers to produce medication logs "on demand", maybe the New York State Racing and Wagering Board should focus on their licensing protocols. If they are really concerned about "integrity" issues, how is this guy allowed to race here in New York? And why did NYRA accept this entry?

They accepted the entry because Biancone served the suspension he was given by the jurisdiction in which he was caught cheating.

Don't get me wrong, I think he's a joke but why should NYRA get the blame for allowing a trainer whose never been caught doing anything under their jurisdiction to run a horse? The game is so badly fragmented when it comes to violators and violations so blaming NYRA is not exactly fair.

Nothing says that they have to take the entry, or that NYSRWB has to license him. The whole point of the "in house" Mullins hearing was supposedly to determine whether NYRA would deny him stalls, refuse entries, etc., in addition to NYSRWB penalty.

What difference does it make if he was caught violating the rules in Kentucky or New York, especially given the severity of the violation and his past history. Does anyone have the guts to say "enough is enough"? NYRA had no problem denying stalls to Michael Gill a few years ago, and if my memory is correct, he had no history in NY prior to that decision.

Let the daughters come to New York.

He's only an 8% trainer this year without Dr. Stewart around.

Interestingly Dr. Stewart is working for a high profile show jumper.

Tracks all over the country were fast enough to deny entry to the grounds to those jockeys who were 'under investigation' for that supposed race-fixing scandal a couple of years ago, and none of them has been ever charged or convicted of anything that I've read about.

Just wondering...has there ever been a boycott by the wagering public against a trainer? If there was a boycott, would Saratoga or NYRA or whatever track involved really care?

Would it be understated to say that the quality of the Vet is just as important as the quality of Trainer or Horse today.

And what about All Along whom Biancone trained, does her Trainer's indiscretions taint her legacy a tad?

If you are going to ban him, then the rest must be banned also. Then you won't have any trainers left to train horses. He is no worse than Assmussen,Pletcher,or Dutrow.

Sure you will, unless you think everyone is "dirty."
