![]() When I get some free time here in a little bit .. I'm going to check and see who the all-time leading stallion by wins is in Presque Isle Downs history.
Most likely it's a stallion named Cozar. As you can see ... as a race horse, he probably couldn't outrun Bernie.. ![]() Just 1-for-14 lifetime on dirt ... and that lone win coming in a 5K claiming non-winners of one in 2 years race at Turfway, with the great Angela Owens up. However, Cozar was a spectacular 3-for-17 lifetime on the turf. His offspring struggle on conventional dirt surfaces ... and that's a big reason why trainer Glenn Wismer is 1-for-130 at Tampa over the last 2 meets. Including a Don Larson like 0-for-61 meet this year. However, at Presque Isle, Wismer transforms into a super trainer each year. His barn, full of Cozar's, turn into beasts on synthetic. I'm hopeful that a sharp business decision is made in the coming months .. and Cozar is moved from Kentucky (where he currently stands for the ultra reasonable sum of $3,000) to Erie. |
