Default Study of Racetrack surfaces

This link is from today's Boston Globe. I find it interesting that the base was the culprit in a problem area - much like Steve and a number of his guests have pointed out, not the dirt, grass or mulched car tires (or whatever it is they use to make the sythetic surfaces).
