Just won a 2 year old maiden race at Del Mar in 1:03 and change, geared down, after fast fractions. Don't know how far she wants to go (she's probably a sprinter, after seeing this race), but she is one fast filly.

She's probably my favorite two year old so far this year. I wouldnt be surprised to see her stretch out. The Grey Flight clan is notorious for their speed and ability to stretch it.

I love her sire, but I'm completely unfamiliar with the dam's side, I admit. I do hope she can stretch out.......in any case, I hope she's sounder than her sire.

Her tail-female line is one of the foundation Phipps/Wheatley stable families. Grey Flight, her 4th dam, was a stakes winner and produced 9 stakes winners including What a Pleasure, champion Misty Morn, and Misty Flight. She's the ancestress of Educated Risk, champion Inside Information, champion Smuggler, Philanthropist, Defer, etc. Jump On In's 6th dam, La Chica, is also the 3rd dam of the incomparable Native Dancer... one of the biggest sire lines in existance mainly through his son Raise a Native and grandson Mr. Prospector.

I don't know why Sadler didn't buy her at the Fasig-Tipton Calder sale in February. Sadler was at that sale. I saw him there. He could have bought her for $70,000 at that sale. Instead he bought her a little over 2 months later at the Barrett's May sale for $410,000.

She may have been small or still a little under-developed. 2 months for a two year old doesnt sound like much, but can be the world of difference. Fire Maker, her bms, was smaller if I remember the info right.

I can tell you one thing that changed. She was on her left lead in her work at Calder. She worked :10 2/5 on her leaft lead. At Pomona, she worked :21 and switched leads nicely.

I guess the most obvious of all answers would be a change it what she showed in the breeze... chalk up another one for the mistress of the obvious.
