Some early AQU thoughts..

4th is pretty well devoid of speed.. Is that enough to give blinker-added 2nd choice Big Megilla (Chip Dutrow) the edge over 5-2 Living Out a Dream? 6-1 Tony the Terio looks like he can go a bit too, and 12-1 Collooney County is worth considering on the considerable drop from state-bred MSW to $25k Empire platers.

5th is NY's lowest claiming level and I'm notoriously bad with these. Single candidate Kamboo Man will be favored and is the likeliest winner, but several others have run races recently enough that can upset here including AE Otis of Atlantis, Lost Going Home, Methodtomymadness, Smokin Warrior. And then of course there is Vicarino in here, Gr. III-placed in March, the former Gilchrist burner, who under Contessa's tutelage, continues to drop like a piece of the Soyuz Space Station.

6th are $16k maidens with Ribaudo's 6-1 Knock Around Guy interesting to me off a pattern that can produce snap-back performances. And note the bullet a week ago. Major players are the 3 top choices Chauvinist, 5-2, but a lawn -looking thing; 7-2 Birthday Balloonz who moves to Levine (32%-$2.52 first time with acquirees) and takes a huge drop (50%-$4.17 MSW to MDN CLM); and Moment Sensor, 2nd time out, first for Bruce Brown (22%-$2.36), towing hot works and not exposed as hopeless yet..

Thoughts??

7th-9th later or tomorrow morning...

Based on the lack of interplay, I guess no one has dug into these PP's...

7th is an ALW/N1X mile for NYB F&M's which doesn't look that mysterious. 7-2 Dynamite Jewel is going to be played heavy, gets Lopez and will hustle early, but I don't think she's much horse. "C.C." is a winter go to guy for Galluscio, and the 4yo does own the tactical edge. Your call. Madam Commander and Warrior Miss look best to me quality-wise at 4-1 and 3-1 respectively. Linda's Baby is 10-1, has a little speed and is mildly appealing as a "C" inclusion on your P6. She's been a much better horse since the weather turned colder.

Featured 8th is a nice affair of solid older ALW types going three-quarters. Darley and Albertrani's Noble Sound was impressive in his delayed debut, and has since come back with 4 well-spaced drills indicating soundness, if there was concern. By Vindication, (out of the late Serena's Tune who was a nice horse for Bob and Bev Lewis), stalker may be a horse with plenty more upside. M J's Enchanteur disappointed last out in overnight stake versus slightly better, but is a winner on his best. On With It from Linda Rice showed continual improvement in fall versus state-breds and steps up off a freshening. Iwinski's Run With Me could be a sneaky horse in here at 20-1 with his April 6 effort behind Lieutenant Ron more than competitive against these.

Nightcap 9th is a group of conditional claiming suspects going 1m-70y. Not sure I can embrace 2-1 on the ordinary Cool Tales, but he did get a heady ride from Mig last out v. similar, will save ground, has 'back class' and is a pace plus. Of the "possibles", All in No Outs, 5-1 from Galluscio, is regularly competitive this level; Red Demon (20-1) has won his only 2 on this strip but comes from miles back; 5-1 Fly the North Wind either went backwards off effects of career best effort October 2 at Belmont, found state bred ALW company too stiff in next three, or both. Good news is he's run well this surface (60% of earnings came here), and pace scenario/company should be to his liking. Sumphin is first the AE list, and while nothing special, is 0-2-2 in these events his last 4.

I'll take a crack at this:

4th: Tony the Terrio ran a pretty good race 2 back, showing speed going longer, the freshening should help. Have to respect the most recent race of Living Out a Dream.

5th: This race is a crap shoot, but the 2 I'm looking at are Kamboo Man, whose last 7 races have been very solid, and Lost Going Home, who has run competitive races, and gets a bit of a freshening also.

6th: I'm not exactly certain what you see in Knock Around Guy. The two obvious ones, Chauvanist and Moment Sensor (trainer change to Brown, off poorly in debut) seem the most likely. I don't see much in Levine's Birthday Baloonzz.

Not much of an opinion on the 7th, other than Warrior Miss took a big step forward last time, albeit on the turf with a very good trip.

In the 8th, I would add Cloud Nine to my ticket. Ran a big one out of nowhere 2 back, then improved on that last time, against far weaker competition, but at 15-1ML, usable. Obviously Noble Sound is the one to beat.

In the last, I really like All Ins No Outs. His race 2 back was exceptional, then came back very quickly and regressed. Now freshened, if he runs his best (and the track is playing fairly) he should win. Possibly a very agressive single.

Congrats to golfer, herkhorse, dellinger63, swedejxn, and cassie who all hit 6!

Tricky sequence turned out to be very chalky. Congrats to winners both in the contest and any real-lifers out there.
