Default Tuesday Night at The Mountain

Tough night at Mountaineer last night and most of the thread didn't involve racing .

We'll try again tonight with a couple of Pick 3 Play's and some gimmick bets.

Race 1: #8 - Aaron's Special (Peltroche/Baird) is going to show some speed after having a little over a month off. I think he could wire these on an off track. The PP's don't give anything on his wet races, but we'll see how they bet him. (5-1 M/L)

Race 2: #3 - Fleetone (Ccamaque/Baird) will get the slight nod over the #1 - Prime Rate (Felciano/Poole) because I think being on the front end has been such a benefit of late.

Race 3: #2 - My Dakota (Whitney/Viands) looks like a definite single here in this race, but I am not a fan of Whitney. If I had to play another couple horses they would be #1 - Hiway Threetwenty (Pereira/Bernardini) and #7 - Exploited Image (Ccamaque/Baird). They both should be close to the front end and I think they will bet the #2 down to 7-5 or less, you might get some value.

$1 Pick 3

3: 1,2,7
4: 2,6,7
5: 3

$9 Ticket

Race 4: #2 - Excessively Groovy (Spieth/Radosevich) and #7 - Ring Ready (Feliciano/Barnes) look like the obvious choices in a pretty weak field. The sleeper in the race is #6 - Norjet (Peltroche/Kocijan). He is coming in from Charles Town and is 2 for 3 over the Mountaineer track. The downside, 0 for 11 on an off-track.

Race 5: #3 - Chocalate Knight (Whitney/Love) looks like the safest bet of the night and will probably end up around 3-5. I am going to single him in the last leg of the Pick 3, but if you only use 2 and 7 in the 4th than add this horse. #4 - Luhukatmego (Jensen/Sanders) he is 20-1 M/L and has been claimed multiple times, so some of these people think highly of him. 8 for 14 ITM at the Mountain. ($20 show - 6

Race 6: #4 - Golden Ice (Rivera/Davis) looks like the single to open up the late Pick 3. He will show speed and is 3/6 ITM on an off-track. ($1 Trifecta 4 with 2,5,6,7,8 with 2,5,6,7,8 = $20)

$2 Pick 3

6: 4
7: 2,3,4,6,9,10
8: 3

$12 Ticket

Race 7: This race looks like the most wide-open of the night, but when I say that the favorite usually wins. #2 - Bengal Lore (Peltroche/Cox) won on the front end last time and I think they can do it again today. #6 - Twofivefiveslew (Hernandez/Cooper) should recover nicely after the last disappointing effort. You will also get nice odds on this gelding. The other most likely candidate is #10 - Gotta Bin to Win (Parker/Reed). He will be out front and has a Tomlinson number of 421.

Race 8: I don't know a whole lot about this Camejo jockey, but #3 - Princess Composer (Camejo/Krummen) looks like the play. Has been trained by 25%+ trainers and has tried much tougher tracks than this one. I think you can single also on the last end, but be leary of #2 - Oriental Bella (Pereira/Welsh) this horse will be low on the odds end for a reason. 6/8 ITM on an off-track (4 wins). ($1 Trifecta 2,3 with 2,3 with ALL)

Race 9: #4 - Morethanrisque (Marcial/Powers) should be close to the front end and will be on the ticket somewhere. I think 2nd or 3rd is more likely on than on top. #8 - Ideaman (Vickers/Skelton) looks like a more likely candidate to win the race, but the horse has only won 5 of 41 at Mountaineer. I'm just glad this isn't the last leg of the Pick 3. This a pretty ugly race.

Don't ask me why, but i'm placing a most unusual night time wager, save twilight cards on the left coast.

Da Mountain R9

Betting Kent Ridge(10)to win and played a small exacta boxed over/under the 1,2,4.

GL all!
