Default Crew makes offer to CC

$100 million for 4 years

I don't think he will take it, but they reportedly made the offer to him

It's probably the years, not the coin

Definitely, I think he wants 6 + years and they are throwing this offer out to tell the fans that they are trying to keep him. I am not sure they really can afford to pay anybody $25million with their payroll

However on the flip side he is only 28 and if he takes this deal he could get another monster contract after this one.

Nothing is getting done until the big boys get involved. But the Crew did their due dilligence but putting a good offer on the table. I would be suprised if he ended up back in Milwalkee.

I agree, where do you think he ends up? Yankees, Boston, Oakland, or does he stay in the NL with the Giants, etc.

I know he says that he wants to play on the West coast to be home. But I really think he will end up in the Bronx. Cashman took a lot of grief/crap for letting Santana get away. Now he can have one of the other top pitchers in the leauge and it will cost you nothing but money (which the Yanks have plenty of). Between not making the playoffs and opening up the (very expensive) new stadium I believe that they will be looking to make a big splash. Plus there was talk (I know don't believe what you read) in the papers about them not going after Tex(which would leave more money to sign CC) With Posada signed for like 20 more years and him starting to breakdown, he will probably end up at first. They lost a bunch of contracts this off season, so they will be in a spending mode (just like every other year, but even more so.)

If he doesn't go to a California team, I wouldn't be so surprised to see him stay in Milwaukee, I am sure there is a 5th/6th year clause in that contract and he seemed to like Milwaukee, how I don't know, but he seemed to like it

Don't care and it is very unlikely, although I did read the article. There is no internet ban, just live/tv ban from October 5th 2008 to October 4th 2009
