Default What's Russell Baze doing?

Is he retired? Is he riding somewhere?

He rode Sunday up in Washington (Emerald Downs). He frequently takes summer fair racing off (he's ridden a bit this summer at the local fairs, he was at Bay Meadows on Saturday) but he'll be back full time when Golden Gate starts their fall meet.

Yeah but only for the one day, where he picked up a suspension.

From the 10th but nicely written...

Yeah, that's what I get for betting against Russell Baze. I didn't think he'd get there with Lemon Kiss in The Emerald Distaff. I had the Mawing and Martinez horses pretty nicely in combos, but fortunately did include Baze with them in a 1$ tri that clicked and paid less than $60.

Candidly, I thought emotionally Russell Baze just might not want to be there for for a public goodbye on the last day at Bay Meadows, and the $400,000 of the Distaff and the Longacres Mile worked out nicely to give him reason to be away. Just projecting, of course. I'm sure he said his own goodbyes in his own way.
