Had a poll, the people spoke, and he ignored them.

Now, he was right to ignore them....but then why have the poll?

Why did all these people vote for a turf campaign? He made the right decision IMO.

As an aside, from Sporting Life...

CURLIN TEAM CHALLENGE BROWN
(no author listed)

Curlin's owners will donate $50,000 to charity if Big Brown faces their star at Saratoga.

Jess Jackson will stump up the cash the Kentucky Derby and Preakness winner faces his star in the $500,000 Woodward Stakes at Saratoga on August 30.

"Big Brown's camp recent remarks about Curlin inspired me to offer an incentive to get these two great horses to race at the legendary track at the Spa," said Jackson.

"Both horses are eligible for this race and both have plenty of time to prepare for what would be thoroughbred racing at its very best and in the name of a great cause.

"This type of competition between horses is exactly what thoroughbred racing needs - an event that introduces the excitement and competition of racing to a broader audience.

"Imagine Horse of the Year Curlin racing against Derby winner Big Brown, on a legendary track. I would love it, the fans would love it, and the horses would love it. "

It would be great but not as great as seeing Jungle Prince taking on Shadow of Illinois, both horses in the prime of their illustrious careers.

I voted for Curlin to retire. Why this was an option is the most puzzling part of the poll thing to me.
