Bodog under pressure

Bodog has been getting intense pressure from the US gov--$24M in bank accounts has been confiscated.

SportsbookReview.com has dropped Bodog's rating to B-. It was "A" rated for years.

If I had money there, I'd think seriously about withdrawing.

Thanks for the "heads up".. I almost opened an account there a few months back.. Now I am glad I did'nt.

any info on full tilt poker? i've never had problems withdrawing until the last few months. they've disabled all forms of withdrawal other than check and my last 2 have taken 6-8 weeks. others i know have had those checks bounce (not my experience but have seen the emails from full tilt acknowledging the problem.)

they are blaming the issues on a "processor" when they communicate at all.

never had any concerns about them until this started. hate to leave them but i can't keep any kind of bankroll there.

have you heard anything?

wow.

didn't read the article before i posted the question. the last checks i received was drawn on a major u.s. bank.

if the feds are targeting u.s. based assets that could make things very difficult. i really miss the days when you could just netteller and epassporte transactions.

we really need a new administration. these guys have no sense of humor.

No, I haven't heard anything, but I haven't been playing Internet poker for over a year. I just now took a quick look at the 2+2 forums and the Poker forum at bj21.com, and I didn't see any mention of problems at Full Tilt. (Someone did refer to their shoddy communication, though.)

At both forums, Poker Stars and Full Tilt seem to be the sites of choice, and no one is reporting banking problems. (at least none that I saw in my quick look.)

I miss the days when you could use PayPal! (before eBay bought PayPal and "cleaned" it up.)

those were the days.

it was all so easy back then. paypal and partypoker. i swear i almost made enough online in 2001 to think about doing it full time.

then wpt and espn made everyone a bad tempered table coach. now the average players are better but just as ill mannered. people couldn't just shut up and cash.

PokerStars is still okay... a withdrawal from them was processed promptly recently.

I'm still mad about them shutting Pinnacle off to US customers last year. For sports bettors, they were the best- period- not to mention rebates on horse wagers.

I just started playing on full tilt again. Back in April I was able to make a nice cashout that was deposited directly into my checking account, is this not an option anymore and you have to get a check mailed to you?

for hold'em, just $20 and $30 nl sng's and various multi's. ring games are mostly 5-10 limit horse, stud h/l, and razz.

i do play 5-10 limit on occasion depending on the company.

too much competition in n/l hold'em for the most part. used to be a gold mine but tv spoiled that. currently easier money in the stud games. still some seriously bad play in the h/l game.

BoDog downgraded due to processing issues. Bodog (SBR rating B-) tells SBR that closing third party processors have forced them to reroute transfers through other payment services. This has caused players to wait even longer than the 40 business days listed on the Bodog website. Players who deposited via person-to-person transfer methods have the ability to receive payment through the same method within three business days. Non-U.S. users using eWallets, Neteller or Moneybookers are offered payment within one business day. Bodog's downgrades from A to B- this summer reflect the book's inability to send checks or bank wires in a time frame consistent with top sportsbooks. The drop from B to B- occurred on 7/31.

In its response, Bodog notes that part of the $24M seizure took place earlier this year--that's consistent with the original article--and caused no disruption to payouts. Bodog says that the recent 9.9M in funds seized from the Nevada bank were not (solely?) Bodog funds.

My stats don't show the 1/2 and 2/4 nl hold em? I like playing the $10 and $20 knockout tournys, but I mainly play the hold em ring game and that is where I have made most of my money on full tilt.

How do you look up other peoples stats on full tilt? You might have just looked up my tournament history, because I really do play mostly nl hold em ring games. I don't fib about my gambling lol.

More Trouble for Bodog. Bodoglife, the online gambling site formerly known as Bodog, is back in the news. The IRS has confiscated over $24 million from a pair of firms, JBL and ZipPayments, which stand accused of processing payments for Bodoglife. Bodog and Forbes have published conflicting accounts of the affair. Nevada State Bank is among the financial institutions from which the feds have seized money. The court case in the Nevada State matter is formally titled, believe it or not, United States of America v. $9,869,283.05.
