![]() but also expexted was announced this morning.
From Racing Post...... Tony O'Hehir PEEPING FAWN, whose run of four consecutive Group 1 victories last year included the Nassau Stakes at Goodwood, and who was described yesterday by her trainer Aidan O'Brien as “a great filly”, has been retired. The daughter of Danehill has not run since completing her Group 1 four-timer in the Yorkshire Oaks a year ago and the idea of retirement had been considered in recent weeks. O'Brien said: “We took her away from home to work before she was due to run in the Pretty Polly Stakes in June and things weren't quite 100 per cent with her afterwards. “While the problem wasn't a major one, she just didn't come back the way we had thought she would. As she has been such a great filly, we took the decision this morning to retire her. She will be covered next year.” Unraced at two, Peeping Fawn took three runs before winning her maiden, under Seamie Heffernan, on her fourth start at Naas in May last year. She went on to finish third in the Irish 1,000 Guineas and second in the Oaks before achieving her first Group 1 win, under Kieren Fallon, in the Pretty Polly Stakes. Johnny Murtagh rode her to her three subsequent Group 1 wins in the Irish Oaks, the Nassau Stakes and the Yorkshire Oaks. She won five of her ten starts and never finished out of the first three. In all she won nearly £690,000 (€875,000) in win and place prize-money.
