![]() I was in Cody, Wyoming yesterday and went to the rodeo to celebrate the 4th. Midway through, the announcer says, "as a very special treat, ladies and gentlemen, we have the horse with us today who almost won this year's Triple Crown, Big Brown!" I'd barely been paying attention, but snapped to attention at this news. Less than 5 seconds later I realized I'd been had, as the horse that came out was maybe 2/3 the size of Big Brown. It was part of a comedy interlude. (The horse shook its head "no" when asked directly if it was Big Brown.)
What was interesting to me was the assumption that Big Brown's name would be recognizable to the 2-3 thousand people at the rodeo. --Dunbar
