She wants to clean up the game, but she employs three of the biggest moveup trainers out there with probably 80% of her stock. Hypocritcal. I would love 3 minutes with her on the phone, tear her ass to shreds, and I don't care how smooth she is with her lawyer talk.

You want to clean up the game Maggi, how about employing trainers that don't get positives every month.

And I am just thinking of Lake/Asmussen and Amoss right now, I am sure there are others...

I bet she believes in her heart that these guys do not use illegal drugs to move horses up. I believe she thinks they use legal drugs in a suitable way that is not harmful. I believe she will continue to support such people until somebody proves that they are indeed crimnals. I believe she thinks that testing is so antiquated that none of it would stand up in any court of law under scrutiny..She is a smart cookie that has blinkers for her own good?

BTW teeth are optional

she was also on Steve's show defending R. Dutrow a while back...and keeps her NY horses with the guy that just had 40 of his horses sampled at Monmouth; not drawing any premature conclusions, jus' sayin'...She's quite the authority

I remember that crap she pulled defending Dutrow. Forgot she had Levine, yet another move up guy.

It is great.

She is scum. Made a career outta defending rapists and murderers. She is sooooooooooooooo concerned about the game, but uses guys like Assmussen and Contessa to train her precious animals. Puleeeeeeeeze. She is so full of sh#t.

Also used to use Contessa. One of the games biggest cheats.

When did Amoss get a positive?

I don't know for sure, but I do know he moves up horses first time claim better then ANYONE. And I am not talking a couple points, I am talking 5-7pts is the usual improvement

So, I read the article and yeah, I get it. Party line, company line, and all that. However, forget about that for a minute. I don't care about all the propaganda. Very simply, Asmussen came up positive and he should get punished -- period. How much, when, etc. -- the same ol' same 'ol arguement over and over again.

But -- I do have a question. Honestly, what do people really think about how this really played out. Why would Asmussen treat this horse, in this race, or push the envelope, treat her too close . . . whatever . . . why would he do this on this horse who is a strong favorite to walk over the field?

Question -- if he did this, he knew he'd get caught, right? Very, very highly probable. So I know there are all the suppositions -- the mask didn't work (nah), he wanted to make sure, he was going to cash a ticket, and so on. The horse was 1-5. Tell me the horse paid a good # and I can see my way clear of anything being possible. The vets know what tests and what doesn't. This wasn't some designer or exotic drug. Every case is different, but here, what gives?

I run through all this in my head, and just think about the how and why. Now, most important -- and I've always said this, and ever strayed -- it doesn't matter!!! Positive test? Days and pays -- period.

Eric

I'd be very, very interested to know how many were in jail, what % were on the drop, rise or back same. This is one factor I look at ALL the time as I am in the claiming business, but you might be surprised that trainers who shoot big #'s off the claim, are often on the drop. Argue all you want, but the top claiming trainers, and I know plenty of them, know their business stone cold. Most of my trainers know every single claiming horse on the grounds -- watch them work, race, cool out, etc. -- so it makes it much easier.

Doesn't mean there isn't "something else" but I'd look at those #'s.

Maybe she'll team up with that dna whiz Barry Scheck from the OJ trial. He can confuse anybody.

I agree 100% with that. This is why Catalano is so successful. He claims for 15k, drops for 10k and wins, profits a couple hundred dollars when said and done, and if the horse doesn't get claimed, they run back for 10k again and win and get claimed...

“I also believe in Steve’s innocence,” Moss said. “Being the leading trainer in the country and having Curlin, It would be ludicrous for him to give lidocaine to a 2-year-old filly who is going off at 1-5 odds. Nothing about this makes sense.”

Well why the phuck was she 1-5??? CAUSE EVERYONE IN THE JOINT KNOWS HE'S A CHEAT!!!!!!!!!

I really, really don't like Asmussen

you know what am I hoping and what I really think is the only possible solution to this hilarious garbage. I hope that one of these super trainers pisses off their assistant trainer so bad, that in about 3-4 years, they run to the Blood horse with evidence of a super trainer downright cheating his ass off, just with the most incriminating data. Now, this assistant would need to be changing professions completely which isn't impossible.

A good ole fashioned whistleblower.....
