damn.
He showed a true turf horse could dominate the California main track. By 2009 the Breeders Cup Classic should be mostly good turf horses if the trainers are less than 2 years behind the times. Running on the Oaklawn main dirt track was such a horrendously bad decision for the horse probably most likely to win the BC Classic at that time, but I don't see anything definitive that even suggests that choice was related to his suspensory injury. hopefully he recovers soon and has a comfortable time in his next career

Question, Hasn't he been running on synthetic tracks now for the past year and aren't they supposed to protect horses from injuries like this? Or does the surface have nothing to do with it?
