Default Early positioning in the Derby

Here's how I see it going into the first turn. What do people think?

----------CV------------Vis--------AN-----------EB-------CCM-------------BBJ

-----------------------------------Pyro------------ZF-------ToE-------RG

--------------------------DoC------CJ----------BT--------CC-------------BB

------------------------------------Mon------ZH--------------Gay

---------------------------------Adr-----------------SA

Based on this I'm moving Tale of Slowkati up and Smooth Air down.

Unless PVal is on BB, I don't see him getting over ahead of Gayego. If he does, either Gayego missed the break or BB used up too much gas.

I doubt Recapture the Glory is that fast.

Denis Of Cork is breaking from the 16 post - but Calvin Borel will probably find a way to have him scraping paint before they get to the finish line the first time, let alone hit the first turn.

You also have two horses ridden by especially ground saving conscious jocks hung very wide in Monba (Donminguez) and Adriano (Prado) ... I will assume they will find a way to drop in more than you them.

I don't think he needs to be that fast to get up in contention early and I think Baird is going to want to be up there more than most of the others.

You are probably right on Borel, I think he'll be very deep early though.

Tough to find a spot for Adriano and Monba to slip in although I'm sure you're right that Prado and Dominguez would if given the opportunity.
