IMO

No chance they are on the turf today. It rained enough yesterday and the threat of rain today will surely scare them off today.

I'm looking for one more carry. No time today to cap the P6 the way it should be.

I'll be all over it tomorrow though.

This seriously changes the complexion of the late card - 14 ShipWatch draws in in the 6th and is a must use in the P6 imo especially with the scratch of No Tolerance who would have been a single for me

Pick 4:

Race 8: Wide open affair....

8 - Mr. Flatter - Moves up slightly if it is sloppy.
2 - Flashy Wonder
6 - Gallant Lover
7 - Sir Diamond - If the pace is hot...and it should be.
*note: If it is sloppy, the 9 - Parisian Friend is another that will move up.*

Race 9:

5 - Carolina Belle - Kenneally outstanding 2nd off. This one got a tast last time out and will be better today.
6 - Moonshine Alice - Winging it.
9 - Red Pine - Coming around nicely for Zwiesler.

Race 10 Off the turf:

1 - Spirited Seacat - Needs a pace to run into. Dirt record way better than turf record.
7 - Taxability - May have been hoping for this one to come off.
8 - Wild Party Gal - The pace that Spirited Seacat needs.
3 - Phyl's Notebook - Ready for a good one.

Race 11: The firsters (normally a staple for me) are not that appealing here.

8 - Prospectorsbounty - Nice even 3rd after being fractious. A calmer post parade and gate experience makes this one ultra tough.
4 - Stephen's Trick - Gulfstream shipper will take all the money with Centeno aboard...beatable.
9 - King Palance - Another vulnerable GP shipper...this one has speed.

Small Ticket:

2,6,8/5,6/1,3,7,8/8,9 = $48

Big Ticket:

2,6,7,8,9/5,6,9/1,3,7,8/4,8,9 = $180

GL to all and watch those track conditions late.

You need to be taking a long look at singling Illini Nation in the 7th too....

*edit* I take that back. I'm can't recommend leaving Out in the Open off the ticket.

I've seen the 8* work in the morning - the horse is amazing...Wasn't in the position to claim him from Walter Durrett the first time he ran for a tag and painfully sorry I missed him - was hoping with all the scratches today one of these two would have gone, tenatively singled the 5 but may add the 3 as a B...

*Edit - meant the 5

Definitely a move up in the connection department for him, I'm not a Durrett fan, although, I did play this one in his debut.

Handily or not, 35 flat at Calder is moving in the am for Illini Nation. If it gets sloppy, the dam was 3 for 8 on off tracks and her babies are 1 for 3....

I'm not trying to talk you into spending more money, just be careful...

Default Illini Nation

This 3 year-old colt by Hennessy out of Chart Topper bought $150,000 last year at the Fasig Tipton 2 year old training sale in March. He worked out a good 10.2 for that sale. The workouts are excellent as already noted and in addition to the 35.0 he worked 5F in 1:01.4. My sense is that he can run....
The field he is facing is not much with the 5 horse the only one who has run that might challenge him. Would not expect 3-1 but hopefully 3-2. The only hesitation i have is if Rosie gets caught on him like she did on Amazing a similar first time starter that she got caught on the rail even though he was much the best a few weeks ago.... My sense is that he will go straight to the lead and from what i hear Rosie is better on the front end...

Straight exacta 3/5 and light exacta 5/3. Win bet on #3 if odds are above 3/2....

Best of luck,

PSH

Illini's slow break cost him there. Not sure if he was gonna get to the winner, but the slow break didn't help at all.

Will be about 3/5 next out.

Well almost...Taxability looked much the best coming into the stretch but bolts into the 1 after a right-handed crack on the asz by Villa-Gomez gets taken down and the 4 gets put up...a fair number of live tickets as 6 for 6 six pays 2k, 40K in the pool...

Rude, I guess it's good you didn't get them in, would have been a tough beat. I really appreciate the post, especially with the visual of the A,B,C's etc. Very helpful-Thanks!

Thanks Herk, I can only guess that HVG must have really laid into him, so hard that it spooked the s*** out of him and he bolted away...Glad I saved the 190.00, because as Bigs found out the hard way earlier in the meet, they don't pay a consol when someone hits it...had 3 5 of 6 tickets that would have been worth exactly nothing
