http://news.bloodhorse.com/viewstory.asp?id=43935

Cleveland residents, and one particular DTer, undoubtedly on pins and needles as TDN meet deadline approaching with MEC and horsemen apart on deal.. Wide spread between dates Magna wants and dates OH HPBA wants..

This is not going to sit well with Morty. His annual trip could be in jeopardy.

Morty actually contacted a friend of mine that I hadn't talked to in years, who hangs out at Thistledowns and is a very sharp handicapper, to give me a call not too long ago.

I was a fairly regular Thistledown attendee in the days Danny Weiler was a leading rider.

Truth be known, my first favorite jockey was his one-time rival, Guy Smithson, but that goes back a bit far for most of you folks here.

(and I started regular track attendance in grade school, and remember the horses and riders and trainers well...... )

I to grew up at the Big T with regualar appearances (every day) during the 14 - 18 years. Anthony Rini was the top jock and there was a guy that would yell at him every time he raced from the stands about stiffing horses.

Anyway, a good friend of mine drives to the new Presque Isle for simucast cause it's nicer. The Big T days may be numbered, but I hope not.

Your friend drives from Cleveland to PI to simulcast. What kind of money does he bet.
