Thanks for the birthday wishes guys.
This sure is some birthday. I am a PhD candidate and instructor at Northern Illinois University where apparently 15-18 people were just shot. The crazy part for me is that this semester I am actually in the lecture hall (every Monday and Wednesday) where the shooting apparently took place . Needless to say, I'm a little freaked right now, although so far I believe that everyone I know is okay. I sure hope it stays that way.

miraja2 -- Happy Birthday... I appreciate the events that you host on this forum.
Today's tragic rampage will require faith and courage by entire NIU community to move forward and heal. Our thoughts and prayers go out to victims' families and wounded as they grieve and recover.

Again, thanks to everyone for the birthday wishes yesterday and for keeping NIU in your thoughts. It was certainly a crazy day yesterday, and although I feel absolutely terrible about what happened to the people that were killed and injured, selfishly I am very thankful that it seems like all of my personal friends, co-workers, and students are okay.
