I can't really take any list seriously that has the good, but incredibly overrated, Juno in the #1 position.
I've said it before and I'll say it again, the best movie of the year was The Diving Bell and the Butterfly. The film is simply brilliant.

I would be more upset that Superbad made the top ten more so than Juno being #1.

For the record, I LOVED Juno. My friend and I laughed and cried through the entire movie.

Superbad was hilarious...

I wouldn't put it top ten, but it was good for what it was intended for:

A laugh or two.

I would have to give the smash hit 'Amy Fisher Caught On Tape' a slim edge over 'There Will Be Blood.'

Don't get me wrong - I haven't actually watched a minute of There Will Be Blood - but if the always critical BlackThroatedWind says it's one of the best movies he's ever seen ... I have to give it VERY high ratings.

There Will Be Blood was one of the most messed up movies I've ever seen about the cruelty of some humankind, but it was good.

I really enjoyed Atonement.

My bf and I watched them back to back in a movie theater one Sunday. Made for an interesting afternoon and a solemn drive home because those movies were both messed up.

Atonement is a terrible movie. Phony pseudo-high brow junk. It is, however, a great book.

The Diving Bell and the Butterfly is a great movie.

I was reading a book last night, "Pronoia Is The Anitdote to Paranoia", and stumbled upon a brief description on the story behind the movie. It's now on my list of things to do this week.

Yes..trys so hard to be artsy and important and fails. If I saw one more character take a drag on a cig and stare into space....

Only redeaming value was the best use of a typewriter in a song/soundtrack since Exhuming McCarthy

Speaking of typewriters...although it didn't come out last year, the best movie I saw last year was The Lives of Others.
