Default Jim Rome in horse partnership

he was VERY excited on his radio show today. he's a partner in the group Little Red Feather Racing. they had the #4-Wing Forward 15-1 in the 10th race at santa anita saturday. Wing Forward came from 11 lengths back to win. Rome played the race call several times and spent the first hour of the show on horse racing. this is his first try at ownership and he had the managing partner on the show with him. he just couldn't put the thrill he got into words.

The good thing about having Rome involved is that we know that he'll let his trainer do whatever it takes to win and won't apologize if it's something illegal. Jim likes to say "if u aren't cheating, u aren't trying and it's only cheating if u get caught."

Yes one of my favorite moments in sports television was "Rome/Everett I" the look in Rome's eyes when Everett dumped him on his ass with the table between them was epic.....it was just a shame he didn't follow through with a debulking of his face!!!

Somehow Rome in Racing seems like putting mayo on peach cobbler some elements should never be in the same place!!!

Rome is more of a Wheel of Fortune guy in a Jeopardy world.......

Man that was a great testosterone moment.

I think Rome got beat up on the playground
and Chris (pardon, JIM) got beat up in the locker room.

Watching this tool "trying" to get his head caved in so he could own the quarterback was just sickening

Default Rome

Will Rome rip Don Chatloss or any other Red Feather trainer? Maybe repeating his horses work out times 20-30 times a show will make it funny.

Except that he has insane number of listeners and if he gets hooked by the game he'll give more coverage to it, which will in turn might lead to interest from millions people that have never cared about horse racing or paid attention to it. Its an untapped resource and well worth it as far as I'm concerned. Everybody keeps asking "How do we attract new people to the game". Seems like this is a good avenue and one that is free.

Rome likes horse racing. he goes to Del Mar, Santa Anita and Hollywood. he admits he doesn't go as much as he'd like.
he gave racing another segment again today. it's was all about his experience on saturday. it's a very good thing! the NTRA has invited him to the Breeders Cup. he said today he would check his schedule. IF Rome comes east for BC, the sport will get more free publicity than it ever imagined.
