Default Danzig Is He Finally Gone!!!!!!!!

What's the talk like him leaving? Sometimes I like him but in games like the one against Bama where he pulled some boneheaded shait to say the least, I wish he'd just leave. Every once in a while he'll pull the Big One off and everyone gets off his back.

if you're talking about nutt, yes, he's gone. reggie herring will coach arkansas in the bowl game, presumably the cotton....have to wonder tho if the coach leaving will impact that bowl wanting the razorbacks.

i don't blame houston for leaving. never understood why he was hired, after his one losing season with boise st. i never bought into the hype, but truth be told, nutt brought arkansas the furthest they had been in some time. wonder if this time he will go to nebraska. they wanted him a couple years ago, and the timing is right for both. and of course the huskers believe in the run, not the pass, so nutt is right up their alley..
besides, his star will never be brighter than it is right now. he's losing the best players that team has ever had in mcfadden and jones to the nfl in the upcoming draft. no way they'd do as well next year as they have in the last two. he struck while the iron was hot for sure.
besides, so many around here have pie in the sky dreams for that team. i'd have never lasted as long as he did.

the nebraska job is pellini's or turner gill. i don't think gill is read for the husker job yet. IF pellini doesn't take the nebraska job, the lsu job is his. was nutt on the staff at nebraska at sometime?

i'm not quick to assume who has what job. i thought grimm would get the steelers, i thought mattingly would get the yankees job, and we all know how that turned out--so nothing would surprise me at this point.

i just know that three years ago nebraska wanted nutt. he got a raise and stayed, nebraska hired callahan--and we all know how that turned out. just wouldn't surprise me if they called nutt again.

but supposedly he's looking at old miss. if it was me, i'd rather go to nebraska than the worst team in the sec.

as for pellini, he did himself no favors on friday. lsu was the second ranked D in ncaa. til arkansas made them look like rank amateurs. and regarding pellini staying at lsu as head coach--i think he ruined any chance of that this wknd. he didn't seek permission from the AD down there to talk to nebraska and that didn't go over well at all. when reporters called seeking comment about a nebraska plane flying to baton rouge to meet pellini, the AD said 'you've got to be kidding me?!' and then made a comment that apparently assistants don't need permission to seek other jobs. didn't sound too good to me.

as for nutt being at nebraska, i have no idea is he was ever an asst there.

oh, and rumors are flying that jimmy johnson is coming to ark. apparently he never liked frank broyles--who is set to retire at seasons' end.

Why would they? I could see it if he was interviewing for an assistants job, a lateral move, but he wouldn't exactly need LSU's permission to take the job.

I would think that the chances of Jimmy Johnson returning to coaching college would be remote at best.

arky doesn't have enough money to get jj to leave miami and tv.

i would also be surprised if he took it. but he has ties to arkansas, so i could see why his name would come up. but then, arkansas always feels they have a shot at big names--it's why they let heath go last spring. they thought they could get one of the big coaches. oops. and heath, like nolan richardson, had a better win % then nutt. yet nutt continued to stay, while they were let go. go figure.

yeah, he seemed real surprised, but then said exactly that, that he probably didn't need to ask first. but i think it would have been nice if he had, especially if he thought miles might leave and he would have a shot at staying as head coach for the tigers. but supposedly the basketball coach claims miles is not leaving, so maybe that's why pellini didn't bother.

anyway, nutt is supposedly in talks with ole miss and baylor, or maybe going to smu.

as for miles and michigan, friday may have changed all that.

no doubt this is still the beginning of silly season, many more changes to come.

I'm sure if Harvard called the President of LSU he would probably talk to them

Not much pressure there. If he does well he will be the toast of the town, he is doesnt it is not as though Ol Miss has a winning tradition or anything

yeah, i heard on the road that nutt went to ole miss. out of the last handful of coaches there only tuberville left voluntarily.

just what the 'backs needed, another coaching search. after they made laughingstocks of themselves last spring over their bball program, hopefully this will go better for all involved.

alas the soap opera comes to an end. nutt and broyles are leaving, and those 'fans' who wanted the best coach they've had in years GONE will get what they wished for--but we all know how that can go.
so what happens when they get another danny ford??

i need to move.

i asked the razorback fan at work who their coach will be now that the fans ran off nutt.
she said it doesn't matter, anyone will be better. of course i mentioned a few facts about how nutt has done compared to ford and hatfield, that they could end up like notre dame.

no reply. but to be honest, i think she's a fan, but knows squat about football, rankings, standings...probably couldn't say how many teams are in the sec, or name half of them. what eva

Oh she is a typical SEC fan then?
