Default Weak $ & the impact on racing & Breeding

Could the fact that the US $ is so weak right now be preventing horses from overseas coming to Monmouth for the Breeder's Cup? I know the purses are still huge but if you don't win they may not be so appealing as the drop off from the winners cut to second and third is dramatic.

The thought occured to me the other day when I saw that the US $ was no = to the Canadian $ and I wondered if anybody else thought that it might have an impact on the Breeder's Cup.

On the flip side does anyone thing that the buying was so strong at recently concluded Keeneland sale due to an increase in people coming to the US to buy horses using stronger foreign currency?

Americans should be shipping to Woodbine in droves. This is the first time in my lifetime the US $ is worth LESS than the CDN $, I think that says a lot about the state of the American economy.

Default Fronm the Canadian

We were at the Woodbine Mile!!! It was great, our country is great and so is this track. I got to meet the #1 Jockey and saw Shakespeare romp!!! We should send one of our girls here when they are ready>> Nice purses and alot less competition.

Sweet!

That's a long drive for you though isn't it? Saratoga's probably closer!

I do agree though: Canada, Toronto, and Woodbine are all great.
