![]() he needs a thread here.. great performance yesterday.. He was alot closer to the pace than he was at Newmarket and even when Creachadoir came up and challenged, he had plenty left. Looks like he could be Breeders Cup Mile bound at the end of the year if things go well with him.. He is a very exciting horse..
here is the race (in French!!!) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tjpwlW6NIuQ and what the horse is named after http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XDjt6slLw-w

![]() I'm just glad he is getting the respect he deserves. Everyone was knocking the English guineas just because he won, but that performance was brilliant, averaging sprinting fractions over a mile that day.
Yesterdays performance showed a different side to him, his battling qualities, which he needed when the Bolger horse came upsides him and as Duke Of Marmalade was staying on under pressure. He is a brilliant horse who needs to be talked about. If he was trained by O'Brien, Stoute, Cecil, Bolger, Weld, etc it would be a different story. I'd love to see this fella run over six furlongs again actually. He looks like a machine. And so much for Nick Mordin who is classed as one of the best in the business, who said Cockney Rebel would never win another Group one, no matter how weak it was after his English guineas win!!! |

![]() Good to see the duel Guineas winner back on track after his injury.. I really hope he comes back to somewhere near his best as his owner was awfully sporting to reject a monster bid from you know who, and he is a really likeable colt from a small trainer...
from racingpost!! COCKNEY REBEL came through his first piece of work with flying colours since recovering from a fractured pelvis. The English and Irish 2,000 Guineas hero delighted connections in a gallop over seven furlongs on Newmarket's Cambridge Road Polytrack. It was his first serious exercise since he sustained the injury when finishing a close fifth in the St James's Palace Stakes at Royal Ascot. He is now on target for the Queen Elizabeth II Stakes at Ascot on September 29. "He worked really, really well. Michael Tebbutt rode him and he was very pleased with him. It was unbelievable. We were sort of stunned really," said trainer Geoff Huffer. "He went seven furlongs at a really good pace with his lead horse. He quickened up and went clear in a very few strides. "He's stronger now and it's looking all systems go for the QEII. We'll step him up now and hopefully everything will keep going as well as it is."

I could be wrong, but it surprises me that he is coming along this quickly. I felt the same about Young Mick (they were rushing him) and look what happened, he was forced to miss the Ebor. My father was laughing when he heard Huffer speaking on TV the other day.
